How Sporeans Should Behave In Public?

Went town with JPGL after sch today to collect my specs @ Hereen. After lunch at Bugis, reached Orchard ard 2.30pm. Seems like a normal day to me rite? You are WRONG! Topic for the day will be How Sporeans Should Behave In Public? Hmm, topic sounds familiar rite, hehe.

Let me seperate these people into 2 catergories, workers group and consumers group. Firstly, let me touch on workers group. As a LOYAL Starhub sales promoter, I totally understand how sales promoter felt towards rude and bargaining customers. You will always hear your supervisor or your manager telling you, "No matter what happen, customers are ALWAYS right!"

This is a super BIAS statement! Customers are NOT always right. They are right, in another sense. But ALWAYS is a very strong word. Its' just like telling someone that there is only "One Best Way" to solve things, its' totally unreasonable! Customers are human beings. Workers are also human beings. Human beings need to be respected by others. Human beings have their own dignity. Human beings will definitely make mistakes. There is no exact right or wrong way of doings. Its' all depending on the situation. If a customer is being unreasonable and demanding, you cannot expect me to kneel down and lick his boot!! This will cause him/her to be even more agressive!!

Same thing goes to the workers. Workers, especially sales promoters have to behave in an extremely polite tone when dealing with customers. Let me tell you what I have encountered today. Mi and Qin stepped into Nike Women @ Wisma Atrium to take a look at the latest products. She tried one of the caps and I tried a dark pink windbreaker. I took out the M size and I was hoping the sales promoter would approach me and take out the hanger for me. The answer is NO.

I was holding onto the hanger and carrying my bag at the same time. I calmly put down my bag on the floor, placed the hanger on the shelves, and tried on the windbreaker. Before we left, I carefully hang the windbreaker back onto the hanger and zip it up properly. But guess what that sales promoter did!

He WALKED over, took the M size windbreaker I had tried earlier on, adjusted abit of the windbreaker and SLAMMED the hanger loudly onto the back of the S size windbreaker. WHAT THE FUCK!!! What idiotic attitude is he giving us! I had already put the windbreaker back and even zipped it back, but he was frustrated that I had messed up everything!!!

Qin was good. She talked loudly to me saying, "EVEN IF I LIKE ONE OF THE PRODUCTS, I WILL NOT BUY IT HERE ANYWAY!! THE ATTITUDE BEING SERVED HERE SUCKS!!"
Wow, cool sia, haharz. I din do the same thing, because I dun dare. Yeah, just call me a coward. I just wont say all these things out during that moment. I am definitely angry, because I din do anything wrong in the first place. I din mess up the windbreakers. I even zipped back! But shouldnt' the sales promoter come over and help me with all these?

Leen was even more powerful! She's my "ou-xiang" of the day. She knew bout it when we complained to her after we came out of that shop. She went in after that, PURPOSELY un-zip the S size, took out the M size and tried it on. After that, she PURPOSELY SLAMMED the hanger for the M size back. *Woooahh...*

That guy was looking at our direction. He knew that we purposely went back the second time to "create trouble". He was all along "hiding" behind his counter and looking at us. Qin said if he dares to come out and slam the hanger again, she will definitely go up to him and scold him! Thou we look like poor students, you never know WHAT WE CAN AFFORD in this fucking Nike shop! C'mon man, Bird Shop @ Shaw House are 101% better than this attitude. This Nike Women shop is forever being condemned by me from today onwards. Anyone reading this entry, DO NOT VISIT NIKE WOMEN @ WISMA ATRIUM. THEIR SERVING ATTITUDE SUCKS!! If you want them to kneel and bow to you, make sure you wear Gucci top, carry LV bag, Fendi shades, Tiffany & Co diamond ring, Rolex watch, Prada wallet with numerous gold cards and speaks with an American "angmo" slang, MAYBE their attitude might change! Damn, I am super offended by these kinda people.

Next, consumers group. There was this auntie, queuing up to pay for the bread she bought from BreadTalk. Apparently, she sucks too. She rudely asked the cashier, "eh! This one how much!" The cashier replied, but she din buy in eventually. Later on, she THREW the money to the cashier. I HATE PEOPLE THROWING MONEY AT OTHERS!!!! Its' super super super rude and inconsiderate!! We are not beggars. We have hands. Why cant she hand the money nicely onto the cashier's hand, but must throw it onto the table? Does that mean, if I am the cashier, I can throw the change back to her as well? If I am the cashier, I will most probably do that back to her. However, this will lead to a complain to my manager. So you see, customers are NOT always right. All these depends on the situation and individuals. If I am the manager, I will definitely know how well my workers are performing. If that auntie wants to complain that cashier, I will definitely know how well will my cashier performed infront of customers. I will not side both sides, whereas, I will get to the bottom of this.

In just a few hours, I have seen so many ugly sides of Sporeans. I am really embarrassed to tell others I am a Sporean as well. In foreign countries, especially when Sporeans are going for a holiday, Kiasuism is still being spreaded all over. They are afraid that food are not enough on the plane, cutleries and airplane properties are considered as "free gift", cheap sales products yet still bargaining for lower price, afraid that they will always be the "last one", squeeze to the front door of the MRT even when the doors haven't even open yet, run as fast as possible to grab seats, etc etc!! I am sick of all these!!! When can we become totally civilised?

It all depends on the family upbringing and the environment they grew up in. Spore is a stress country. Children are feeling stressful as young as 5 yrs old. Competition is everywhere. Without competition, there's no improvement. Without improvement, Spore will lose out to other countries. However, with competition, Kiasuism will always be around. Its' just like a normal life cycle. That's the sad thing for Spore......
