MARKET STREET - LAKSA

Stumbled upon this restaurant while we were deciding where to eat for lunch. Apparently, my colleague said its's one of the famous Laksa eating place in Depot Road.

Tried their prawn mixed Laksa with yellow noodles while the rest ordered the abalone mixed and chicken mixed versions with the original "thick" beehoon, so to speak.

Huge servings of prawns and Tau Pok (which is the crux of the Laksa) shown as above. However, the prawns they used were those "crystal" ones and it doesn't seem tasty enough to bring out the sweetness and flavour of the Laksa. I personally feel that they should at least use tiger prawns, comparing the price I paid for.
As you can see from the photo above, the gravy doesn't really contain much chilli oil. For those who can't take spicy food, this might suits you. And because I ordered the yellow noodles, the gravy seemed thicker as compared to my counterparts. Unfortunately, I still can't really taste much of the coconut milk used.

Overall, its' quite average. Service wasn't outstanding also. They know what to do, but there wasn't any smiles. The design of the restaurant was very simple, nuthing to shout about. It's just like another eatery. The logo design is very nice though.
