Pasta Cafe - Takashimaya

Winnie suggested pastas for dinner and since we were in town, we decided to try out this Pasta Cafe.Started off with the Breaded Mussel for the appetiser dish. Portion is fine, for just two small eaters.

The mussels were fairly done. Not much of an excitement though. The crusted bread crumbs actually tasted better, with a tinge of butter flavour nicely baked together with the mussels.
She ordered this for her main. Bacon Carbonara Pasta.
Those who prefer creamy-base for their pasta, will be going WOOOAHH over this dish. Plenty of bacons and tomatoes added in. The creamy sauce is marvellous and not too overpowering. Spaghetti is nicely cooked, with just the right timing. Portion is pretty huge, I must say.
As for those who can't really take creamy-based pastas, you can have the same as what I had. The Pescatore Tomato Pasta.
Consisting of prawns, mussels, squids, scallops and a generous portion of onions (yeah!!). Mainly a seafood pasta, like what they call it, the Marinara from Pastamania.
The sauce wasn't quite up to my expectation. Watery and lack of tomato taste. I prefer my pasta with huge amount of tomatoes in it (if not, why would I even ordered a tomato-based pasta in the first place?!). Prawns and scallops were nicely cooked, retaining the sweetness flavour in it. Mussel's ain't that good. I reckoned they were not very good with mussels. What a disappointment.
